Do you have Mature Skin?
Ah, the face of maturity. Mature skin starts to manifest around middle age for most women. Some telltale signs include sagging skin and loss of elasticity, and slack skin (less skin tone).
Along with crow’s feet visible around the delicate eye area you may notice more fine lines. Fine lines are deeper set, particularly around the mouth area.
Skin cell turnover has slowed; skin looks flat and dull, and has lost that plump look of youth. Age spots may have appeared.
Mature skin is not only determined by age. Other factors influence the appearance of skin such as smoking, poor diet, and lack of sleep.
Do you have Sensitive Skin?
Any skin type can also be sensitive.Sensitive skin is prone to rashes and other signs of irritation caused by either harsh chemicals or ingredients in a strong dilution for them.Allergic reactions to commercial products are also common.
Note* Many products for sensitive skin contain natural ingredients such as: coconut, neem, geranium, cinnamon, and oregano. However, these are known to be irritating to many, let alone people with sensitive skin! Read your ingredient lists carefully. Here at Nature Notes, none of these ingredients are used for sensitive skin!
Do you have Dry Skin?
If you have dry skin you will notice small sized pores. Your skin will feel and be dry to the touch and may feel tight.
Dry skin flakes easily. This is especially noticeable with a dry scalp.
Fine lines are visible early, making you appear older than someone your age who has (had) oily skin.
Your skin may typically be:
- Prone to broken veins
Do you have Normal & Combination Skin?
No, your skin is not playing tricks on you. It’s just a bit more complicated to care for, as you may need more than one type of product to address the very specific and separate areas on your face.
For example, your T- zone is problematic (forehead, nose, chin) as it is a mixture of both dry and oily.
You may be prone to pimples on your nose, forehead and along the jawline.
Your skin will typically be:
- No blackheads/blemishes/acne
- Flaking skin or broken veins
Your skin may be neither oily nor dry, or perhaps it might be both oily and dry.
Acne may or may not be an issue.
Do you have Oily & Problem Skin?
If you have oily skin, this will be indicated by:
- Coarsely textured skin
- You may notice a tendency toward blackheads/blemishes/acne
- You are (or will be) less prone to wrinkles
- Pores will be large, and very visible
- Your skin will typically be oily to touch
- Your skin looks shiny most of the time due to over-production of sebum, especially on the forehead
